Join the College Board Direct Admissions Program!

College Board will then let you know which, if any, participating colleges are giving you a preliminary admissions offer.

College Board, in partnership with member colleges, has created a Direct Admissions Program to help make the college application process less stressful and more accessible. In short, this is how it works:

You complete this short profile about what you're looking for in a college.

Participating colleges review this information and craft personalized, preliminary offers of admission.

College Board notifies you which, if any, participating colleges would like to extend a preliminary offer of admission and provides resources to help you make a choice. College Board won’t disclose any personally identifiable information to participating colleges as part of this program.

YOU decide how to move forward.

The following form contains six questions that participating colleges may consider.

  • What is your GPA?
  • What is your intended college major/program of interest?
  • Which school environment are you most interested in attending?
  • How far are you willing to travel to your desired school?
  • What is the highest-level coursework completed across core subjects?
  • Which institutions are you interested in receiving offers from?

College List

Based on your academic qualifications and your interests, colleges may preliminarily offer you a place in their programs. This is how College Board Direct Admissions Program will work if you choose to participate:

In addition to the insights you may have shared in answering the above questions, College Board will use certain, limited information about you that you already provided to us, including your zip code, GPA, SAT score range(s), if applicable, gender, college major or program of interest, which high school you attend, and your National First-Generation Recognition Program Award or National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award, if any. This information will come from your student account at collegeboard.org.

  • Participating colleges will review this information about the students who choose to be part of this program, in a de-identified format and make a decision on which students to provide direct admission. Your race and ethnicity will not be used.
  • Though participating institutions are test-optional, test scores may be part of the decision-making process for this program.
  • College Board will not disclose any personally identifiable information about you to participating colleges as part of this program.
  • If a college decides you're a match for them, we will send you an exclusive email offering preliminary admission on behalf of the college.
  • If you don't receive an offer through this program, you can still apply using the regular application process.
  • If you want to claim the admissions offer, you will go to a school-specific website link provided in the email. The school will let you know about next steps to enroll such as submitting your final transcript to complete the admissions process. After you get the offer, you may share more information directly with the college to consider a comprehensive financial aid package as well as confirm admission and enrollment.

There is no guarantee of admissions, scholarships or financial aid. Any offers of direct admission you receive may require you to complete additional steps as defined by the college. The college may also require confirmation of information it relied upon in making an offer direct admission. Each college makes the decision on offers of direct admission. College Board is pleased to coordinate this program while protecting your privacy but is not involved in any of the selection or decision making by the colleges.
