Data Subject Rights Request and Opt Out of Search

Thank you for your interest in submitting a data subject rights request.

When to use this Form

College Board respects your right to access, correct, and request erasure or restriction of your personally identifiable information as required by law. You may exercise these rights by submitting this form, contacting us via email at dataprotectioninquiry@collegeboard.org, writing to us at the U.S. address: College Board, 250 Vesey Street, New York, NY 10281, or contacting our Customer Service team at 844-849-3551.

College Board also respects your right to opt-out of Student Search Service (Search). You can opt out of Search at any time by submitting this form, going to https://my.collegeboard.org/profile/privacy, contacting us at 866-825-8051, or emailing SearchCustomerService@collegeboard.org.

 When not to use this Form

  • Updating information in your account: You may update certain of your personal information by logging in to your College Board Account. You are unable to update other information on your own. To request that such updates be made, you may use this privacy webform.
  • Unsubscribing from marketing communications: To unsubscribe from marketing communications, you may click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any College Board email, reply STOP to a text message, or manage your email and text messaging preferences through your College Board account settings, as applicable.

Student search service can be managed through collegeboard.org account by logging in to your account.
Please note: once you’re opted-out, we will immediately remove you from Student Search Service. Colleges who have already contacted you may continue to send you communications. If you’re continuing to hear from a program you’re not interested in, we recommend you opt out of that organization’s communications directly. You can typically opt out or unsubscribe from future mailings at the bottom of the organization’s email or on their website. In addition, you may have the right to request College Board to delete your personally identifiable information, which you may do on this form, via email at dataprotectioninquiry@collegeboard.org, by writing us at the U.S. address: College Board, 250 Vesey Street, New York, NY 10281, or by contacting our Customer Service team at 844-849-3551.

For U.S. requesters (except Colorado residents): We are unable to delete your data. However, we will close your online account and unsubscribe you from marketing communications and Student Search, if applicable. With your account closed, you will no longer be able to see or send any of your test scores, access college lists or other information you may have saved, or access other resources only available through a College Board account, as applicable.


For those in specific locations, you may have certain rights such as the right to request erasure or deletion of your personally identifiable information. If College Board deletes your data, the impact includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • you will no longer be able to access your account now or in the future as it cannot be reinstated;
  • if applicable, you will no longer be able to see and send any of your test scores (e.g., SAT, AP Exam(s), CLEP);
  • if you have applied for and/or been approved for testing accommodations, all associated data, applications, and approvals will be deleted;
  • your CSS Profile application, if any, and the associated data and records will be deleted and no longer available for you to send to colleges or institutions;
  • you will lose your ability to complete any applications you may have started, such as financial aid applications, fee waiver applications, or test registrations;
  • if you participate in Student Search Service, you will be removed from Student Search Service; and
  • you will lose access to any activities or programs in which you may be currently participating or have previously participated in with College Board (e.g., access to college lists or other information you may have saved, practice tests, etc.).

If you have multiple College Board accounts (which is a violation of College Board’s security policy), all those accounts will be consolidated, resulting in the data associated with all those accounts being deleted.Once your account data, including associated scores, are deleted, they cannot be reinstated. All deletions are final and permanent. 


Within 10 business days, we will close your online account and unsubscribe you from marketing communications if applicable. Please know that with your account closed, you will no longer be able to see or send any of your test scores, access college lists or other information you may have saved, or access other resources only available through a College Board account, as applicable. If you have multiple College Board accounts (which is a violation of College Board’s security policy), all those accounts will be consolidated and the account that remains will be closed/deactivated/cancelled. You may request that College Board reactivate your account at a future date.


If you participate in Student Search Service, we will also remove you from Student Search Service. Colleges who have already contacted you may continue to send you communications. If you’re continuing to hear from a program you’re not interested in, we recommend you opt out of that organization’s communications directly. You can typically opt out or unsubscribe from future mailings at the bottom of the organization’s email or on their website.
