BigFuture Teacher Visionary Award

Nominations due: March 17, 2024.

Teachers are visionaries: blazing trails to career and college with BigFuture. 


To celebrate that, we’re accepting nominations and self-nominations of inspiring teachers who lead the way in showing students careers and education pathways using BigFuture tools and resources.


The Details: 


  • We’re looking for creative and inspiring high school classroom teachers who use BigFuture for career and college planning.  
  • Students, educators, or school community members can nominate a teacher.
  • Nominations will be open from February 28 – March 17, 2024. 
  • BigFuture will review submissions for specificity, originality of the classroom activities that teachers facilitate using BigFuture, and clear examples of impact on students.  
  • Winners will be announced in May of 2024.

Your response could include:

Specific examples about the project / activity / discussion / lesson that supports high school students to explore careers, plan for college, and/or pay for college. In your response, you could consider answering questions like: 

  • What does the teacher say/do to introduce the topic? What do they say/do to help students think about their plans for after high school? 
  • Is there a project/activity that students do? How do students spend their time in the activity? 
Specific examples of how BigFuture is used. In your response, you could consider answering questions like:  
  • How is BigFuture incorporated into the activity? 
  • What does the teacher say/do? 
  • What do students do?  
Specific examples of how this activity inspires students. In your response, you could answer questions like these or tell us anything else we should know:   

  • Can you share any examples of how students see value in this work and in using BigFuture? 
  • What inspiring, informative, or empowering conversations and discoveries do students have as a result of this activity?  
  • Do students find new paths or options that they didn’t know of?  
  • Are there examples of students who have gone on to find success after high school as a result of these activities?

Tips for recording a video: Hold or position your phone vertically when recording. Then just talk to the camera, and answer the questions. Be yourself.  Don’t be afraid to get creative!  You can edit your own video before submitting it, or you can submit the full clip and we’ll edit it for you. Please do not add music to your video.
